QSC to supply voice services for fibre optic broadband network at regional energy supplier “eins”
- Energy supplier massively promoting broadband expansion in Saxony
- IP voice services from QSC for a current total of up to 60,000 households
Cologne, 26 June 2018 – QSC AG is to provide voice services on the fibre optic network currently being developed by the regional energy supplier “eins” together with partners in Chemnitz. If an end customer orders broadband services from eins, processes such as the transfer of telephone numbers, provision of new telephone numbers, or installation of the SIP trunk, the virtual equivalent of a stationary telephony system, are handled automatically. “QSC provides us with the voice connections in our fibre optic network on a fully automated basis and within just two minutes”, comments Thomas Neef, the project coordinator at eins.
Fibre optic expansion for companies and residents
As an energy supplier, eins is pursuing the strategic objective in Saxony of massively promoting supply quality with real broadband internet services. With more than 60,000 fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) connections, around half of companies and households in Chemnitz now already have access to the fibre optic network, including a fibre optic “last mile” connection. This way, private customers can book real broadband connections with speeds of up to 200 Mbit/s, while companies can even obtain up to 1,000 Mbit/s. eins is also supporting surrounding districts in expanding fibre optic connections, as well as in offering services and marketing these connections.
To provide the voice services on the network, QSC has network interconnections with numerous interregional and international internet providers and carriers. “QSC is one of the few providers in Germany that is able to provide automated voice services in fibre optic networks”, comments Thomas Neef from eins. “And the quality is superb!”
QSC operates its own nationwide next-generation network in Germany, supplies numerous companies with managed network services, such as those required to build a company network across several locations, and monitors network services around the clock at its proprietary Network Operations Centre (NOC).
