Imperial Brands extend IT contract with QSC and presses ahead with digitisation

  • Longstanding partnership extended for another five years
  • Extensive IT support at all German locations and global data centre and SAP services
  • Support for digitisation strategy with bespoke cloud and multi-cloud services

Cologne, 12 June 2018 – Imperial Tobacco Ltd. (on behalf of its group, Imperial Brands PLC) Bristol (UK), has reaffirmed its partnership with QSC AG by extending its service contract five year term with QSC. Thus, QSC has successfully positioned itself to remain as a key partner to Imperial in implementing its global IT strategy.

Based on its longstanding relationship as service provider to the Imperial Brands Group, QSC will continue to manage a wide spectrum of IT services for the group. The services include networking all German locations and providing application, SAP and user support to Imperial’s operations. In addition to full support for the German subsidiary, QSC will also perform data centre services for most of Imperial’s subsidiaries worldwide. Furthermore, QSC will continue to manage Imperial Tobacco’s SAP solutions and play a central role in its SAP projects.

QSC to support implementation of global digitisation strategy

Key features of Imperial Tobacco’s global digitisation strategy include efficiency enhancement, standardisation and increased flexibility. QSC will support Imperial with this strategy by gradually introducing cloud and multi-cloud services and optimising Imperial’s proprietary IT resources in a data centre and hosting environment.

QSC and Imperial have enjoyed a trustful partnership since 1997. “Over many years, QSC has ensured highly stable IT operations for Imperial. QSC has the capabilities we need to support our data centre and cloud strategy during the next term of our relationship and their flexibility as a service provider and advisor motivated our decision to extend the cooperation”, comments Chris Broe, CIO of Imperial Brands.

“We are very proud that Imperial Tobacco has extended its trust in us and that we have the opportunity to support the company in implementing its global IT strategy”, adds Waldemar Gerlach, Head of the Cloud & IT Outsourcing business unit at QSC AG.

The parties have agreed to maintain confidentiality as to the contract volume.
