QSC subsidiary has already linked up 600,000 industrial devices securely and successfully to the Internet of Things

Cologne, 27 January 2020 – The new year has begun on an auspicious note for Q-loud GmbH. Since being founded in 2016, this subsidiary of QSC AG which specialises in the Internet of Things (IoT) has already linked up 600,000 industrial devices to the IoT. These involve a wide variety of devices, ranging from windows, doors, heating and cooling systems, pumps, rollers, valves, and pipes through to manhole covers. “That is a respectable figure, and one that shows the wide range of industrial fields in which Q-loud has already successfully implemented IoT solutions”, comments Dr. Myriam Jahn, CEO of Q-loud, with regard to the dynamic developments seen in recent years.

Industrial IoT makes production more efficient, flexible and customer-focused

Q-loud deliberately opted to focus on the needs of manufacturers. Its core business therefore involves using sensors and edge gateways to record device and machine data, filter this in line with customers’ wishes, store it in the cloud and make it available on a centralised basis. “Our customers basically all have the same goal – to make their production more efficient, flexible and customer-focused. Our pragmatic IoT solutions makes it easier than ever before to meet that objective”, explains Dr. Myriam Jahn. Alongside pure monitoring, for example, customers can also implement predictive maintenance, smart device management and machine learning.

All solutions are based on Q-loud’s IoT hub, which enables customised solutions to be developed, existing devices to be integrated using a retrofit solution, and all data to be processed with a key focus on security. Another benefit is the absolute transparency Q-loud can offer for its pricing, which is simply based on the number of devices connected.

At this year’s Hanover Fair (Hannover Messe), due to be held from 20 to 24 April 2020, Q-loud will have its own stand with the motto “From Edge to Business” (Hall 14, Stand G38). Do come and visit us!
