Huawei to rely on QSC’s IoT platform for customer projects

Cologne, 7 September 2015. Huawei, one of the leading providers of information technology and telecommunications (ICT) solutions worldwide, is cooperating with Q-loud GmbH. This wholly-owned subsidiary of QSC AG specialises in IoT solutions for networking appliances within the Internet of Things (IoT).

As a hardware producer, Huawei will be drawing in future on services from Q-loud’s SOLUCON IoT platform. This offers an extensive set of necessary IoT functions, such as end-to-end encryption, secure data transfer, big data analysis or transaction-based billing, that the customer can use in a proprietary exclusive environment. This way, any number of appliances can become components within a large Internet of Things. This on the one hand makes production more efficient with the data thereby obtained and on the other hand enables customers to be offered additional services, such as app management, remote maintenance or real-time support.

Specifically, this means that in some customer projects the appliances used by Huawei will be suitably equipped to communicate securely with the IoT platform. The functions available on the platform then enable processes to be automatically executed with all relevant factors and performance data. Like people in today’s internet, in an Internet of Things appliances also communicate and interact with each other. This is the basic precondition for Industry 4.0.

“As a hardware producer, Huawei has assumed a leading in role in Germany when it comes to Industry 4.0 and networking appliances within the Internet of Things. With Q-loud we have found a partner to implement this in terms of software as well”, commented Jörg Diederichs, CTO and Vice President for IoT/M2M/I4.0 Solutions at Huawei Europe. “SOLUCON will provide us with key IoT functions, such as encryption, secure data transfer, big data analysis and transaction-based billing as flexible modules.”

“We are delighted to have gained a partner in Huawei that is not only a global leader for ICT infrastructure solutions, but that also has a strategic commitment to the Internet of Things and Industry 4.0”, added Frank Thelen, Managing Director of Q-loud GmbH, with regard to the agreement now reached. “The combination of innovative hardware with flexible, highly scalable IoT software modules will help drive the development of Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things.”
