INFO AG is the new ITC service provider for Amprion GmbH

  • Assumption of the complete operational responsibility for IT infrastructure, IT systems and application landscape
  • INFO AG commissioned as main contractor for Amprion

Hamburg, May 31, 2012 - Amprion GmbH, one of the leading transmission system operators in Europe, has concluded an outsourcing contract with INFO AG, a QSC AG company and independent ITC full service provider based in Hamburg. INFO AG's solution concept comprises the transition of the entire Amprion IT infrastructure, IT systems and data from RWE IT to INFO AG as well as complete operations throughout the company at a later date, as an integral part of INFO AG's role as main contractor.

Amprion is a former RWE 100% subsidiary which has been an RWE AG minority shareholding since 2011. The company is currently proceeding through the legal channels for unbundling from the RWE affiliated group and due to legal requirements attached to this matter, it is no longer possible for Amprion to continue to draw from RWE IT GmbH IT services. Amprion has therefore decided to introduce extensive IT outsourcing from an independent IT service provider. Under the overall umbrella of QSC AG, INFO AG is recognized as one of the leading ITC service providers in Germany, offering individually scalable ITC solutions as well as tailor-made and flexible services. Based on the highest standards in regards to service quality, security and innovation, the full service provider is to support Amprion by way of customized, state of the art, future-oriented ITC solutions. INFO AG contributes its longstanding industry experience with comparable service organizations and reference clients from the Gas and Energy Industry business unit, headed by Bernd Loseke.

"We have accumulated extensive experience which allows us to ensure fast and flexible IT unbundling, while taking all security and stability aspects into consideration. Our best practices shall prompt further expansion within our Gas and Energy Industry business unit and enable us to realize successful projects for our clients", said Henning Reinecke, who is a member of the Board of Directors representing sales & marketing at INFO AG.
