The IT services market in Germany – current trends and outlook

The current Lünendonk study 2025, "The Market for IT Services in Germany," offers IT service providers and user companies key market figures and comprehensive information for their planning. The new edition presents current market and technology trends as well as forecasts for the near future.

For the study, Lünendonk surveyed 105 IT service providers and 149 user companies this year . The economic stagnation of 2024 has now also impacted the IT services market. It grew by only 2.6 percent overall – the lowest figure in the past 10 years. However, Lünendonk expects a significant recovery in the current year (2025) and forecasts revenue growth of 7.1 percent for the German market. Growth is expected to return to double digits in 2026, reaching 10.4 percent.

, the most important market drivers are data analytics/AI, as well as cloud transformation/migration and cybersecurity, along with managed services and consulting. However, the shortage of experts , particularly in cybersecurity and data analytics/AI, is worsening. This shortage also affects software development, IT operations, and process consulting.

q.beyond AG was able to increase its revenue and, above all, its profitability last year, while a third of IT service providers in the German market even recorded declining revenues. q.beyond is thus once again among the leading IT service providers in Germany.
