QSC makes further price cuts for DSL solutions aimed at the self-employed and small companies

Cologne, 2 July 2002. QSC AG is making it easier for the self-employed and small companies to avail themselves of a high-quality alternative to conventional Internet access via ISDN, or to other DSL offers on the market. The Q-DSL office product is being relaunched with a significantly lower price tag of 49 euros net per month (gross price: around 57 euros). Until now, the basic monthly rate was 99 euros including VAT.

Q-DSL office is a tailor-made solution for smaller companies with up to ten workstations reliant on fast information exchange over the Internet . The target group includes, for example, business consultancies, architects' offices, law firms, advertising agencies, multimedia and IT companies, for whom higher data transmission speeds than ISDN, reliable connections and, above all, calculable costs are important factors.

Q-DSL office enables transmission speeds of up to 1,536 kbit/s downstream (to the subscriber) and up to 256 kbit/s upstream (into the Internet). This combination makes Q-DSL office superior to other similarly priced DSL products on the market.

The basic monthly price of EUR 49 already includes a data volume of 1,000 MB. Every additional megabyte is billed at 2.9 cents, but only to a maximum monthly price of EUR 249 - even when much more data was transferred. With this Fair Price tariff, Q-DSL office offers companies with a low monthly data transfer volume a low basic price, while still providing heavy users with a reliable and calculable cost framework. The once-only activation charge for a new Q-DSL office connection is EUR 169. QSC customers are totally free in their choice of telephone provider, because the Q-DSL office connection uses a separate copper line that already exists in most cases.

Other inclusive features make Q-DSL office an all-round solution:

  • choice of domain name in the top-level .de, .com, .net or .org domains,
  • 10 MB web storage for own content,
  • 20 e-mail addresses,
  • DSL router for several workplaces, installed free of charge for the term of contract.

Q-DSL office offers definite quality benefits thanks to reserved bandwidths: "Our customers are always on. We do not disconnect lines on a regular basis as some DSL competitors do", says Dietmar Gierden, Product Manager at QSC AG. Another advantage for QSC customers is that they can rely on skilled service around the clock. QSC customers are spared those telephone voyages from one call centre to the next that leave more questions open than answered.

QSC AG (QSC), a Cologne-based alternative DSL provider in Germany, offers broadband leased-line connections and innovative services of the highest quality to business and residential customers over normal telephone lines. The company's broadband network infrastructure now covers more than 40 of the largest cities in Germany, thus reaching a quarter of the entire population. QSC currently employs a workforce of 300.
