New member of the QSC Supervisory Board

Cologne, July  31, 2003 - Following the suggestion of QSC AG, Norbert Quinkert, Chairman of Motorola GmbH Deutschland, has been appointed by the District Court of Cologne to the Supervisory Board of  QSC AG, a nationwide telecommunication solutions provider with its own DSL network. The decision of the district Court was communicated on July, 29. Mr. Quinkert succeeds Supervisory Board member Manjit Dale, who had resigned from the Supervisory Board effective December 31, 2002.

Quinkert benefits from many years of management experience in the IT and systems integration industry as well as extensive sales and marketing expertise. After being trained in systems management at Bull Deutschland, his career included various executive positions at General Electric Information Services and General Electric Medical Systems, leading to his appointment as President of General Electric in Germany, where he was responsible for the group´s operations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Since 1995, Norbert Quinkert has been Chairman and Speaker of the Management Board of Motorola GmbH. He is also responsible for Motorola´s country operations in Austria, Switzerland and The Netherlands.

Norbert Quinkert also serves as a member of the Supervisory Boards of ALD Vacuumtechnik AG, Hanau, and Pfalz Flugzeugwerke AG, Speyer. In addition, he serves  as Executive Vice President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Germany and a member of the Dresdner Bank Advisory Council.
