QSC awarded “Security Leader” status once again by Experton

Cologne, 11 December 2015. In its latest “Security Vendor Benchmark 2016”, the Experton Group has singled out QSC AG for “Security Leader” status in its “Managed Security Services” category. In the “E-Mail/Web/Collaboration Security” category, Experton sees QSC and its Munich-based subsidiary FTAPI as a “Product Challenger”.

Consistent with Experton’s usual approach, the market researchers investigated the attractiveness of the providers’ portfolios and their competitiveness.

Security Leader
The newly published study states: “As a network operator, QSC can offer end-to-end responsibility – from data centre through to customer – and this has benefited the assessment of the company’s competitive strength. QSC is also able to offer an extensive range of Managed Security Services, and Identity & Access Management is now also possible”. Overall, a total of 21 providers were classified as relevant for the German market in the Managed Security Service category.

Product Challenger
In the E-Mail/Web/Collaboration Security category, Experton examined around 40 providers. The assessment criteria included encryption possibilities, as well as the availability of high-performance sales channels.

“The FTAPI solution offers secure data transfer and storage. End-to-end encryption makes this service very attractive for user companies, as does the operation of the SaaS solution at QSC’s data centres in Germany.”

Specifically, the market researchers at Experton underlined that this solution was highly attractive in the market, a factor that was also reflected in the cooperation with Vodafone. “Vodafone – after all one of QSC’s competitors in some market segments – opted for FTAPI when looking for an e-mail encryption solution, thus further confirming the attractiveness of this service”, added Experton.

On 1 December 2015, Vodafone announced the launch of its “Secure E-Mail” product based on FTAPI technology. Designed as a “freemium” offering, the product enables users to easily and securely send e-mails via web browsers, smartphone apps or directly from Outlook.
