q.beyond significantly expands hybrid cloud offering

  • q.beyond with immediate effect a certified “Google Cloud Partner”
  • Cloud Competence Center pools all aspects of cloud expertise
  • Rapid growth in demand for hybrid cloud services from SMEs
Cologne, 04 August 2022 – As the latest step in expanding its hybrid cloud offering, q.beyond AG has now announced the agreement of a partnership with Google. This means that q.beyond can with immediate effect offer services to its customers as a certified “Google Cloud Partner”. The IT service provider is already performing its first customer projects in this area, with one example involving the implementation of an extensive sales solution for a large SME in the local transport sector.

More than 150 cloud specialists

q.beyond has also set up Cloud Competence Center for the hybrid cloud business. This pools all aspects of the company’s public and private cloud expertise under one roof. The Cloud Competence Center has more than 150 cloud specialists ready to assist q.beyond’s customers. Furthermore, if need be the System Operations Center is available to q.beyond’s customers 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and that across all of the clouds.

Independent cloud partner

Alongside its new partnership with Google, q.beyond already maintains partnerships with the other major public cloud providers, particularly SAP, Microsoft and Amazon. This approach enables q.beyond as an independent service provider to offer precisely that solution and cloud configuration that best meets the needs of the individual customer. Solutions range from proprietary IT infrastructure on location to private clouds from q.beyond’s high-security data centres in Germany through to public clouds offered by the hyperscalers.

By working with DevOps principles and “Infrastructure as Code” (IaC), the way in which the respective computing capacities are distributed is no longer important for q.beyond and its customers: All scenarios within the hybrid cloud can be managed and administered on a centralised and standardised basis using a uniform surface.

Strong demand for hybrid cloud from SMEs

“What until relatively recently was the subject of highly critical discussions among our customers has now almost become standard: Ever more frequently, we are developing IT structures for our SME customers in the public cloud as well. Year-on-year, we most recently saw growth of more than 1,000 percent in this area”, reports Thies Rixen, a member of q.beyond’s management. “Virtually all our cloud customers now call for a mix of proprietary operations, private cloud resources, which we provide from our data centres, and public cloud services. This three-pronged approach requires professional IT management to enable all resources and applications to interact seamlessly – that is exactly what we do for our customers.”

Complete customer journey for hybrid cloud

To support customers in planning and implementing their cloud strategies, q.beyond offers a complete and standardised customer journey which focuses above all on migrating applications to the cloud. Alongside this, q.beyond has in recent times significantly expanded the topic of governance. That is because companies can only guarantee the required level of security and avoid unnecessary costs if they have solid governance structures in place.
