The project
In light of increasing security and cyber risks, as well as geopolitical uncertainties, it was crucial for Donner & Reuschel to migrate its IT infrastructure to a professional data center. It was important to partner with an experienced provider that offered high security standards and a stable infrastructure. Additionally, the infrastructure needed to be housed locally to ensure fast response times, lower latency, maximum data throughput, and optimal data protection.
Another important factor was compliance with the EU's DORA requirements. The Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) improves the digital resilience of financial institutions and strengthens their ability to better manage ICT disruptions such as cyberattacks or system failures. Through their collaboration with q.beyond, Donner & Reuschel was able to ensure that their IT infrastructure meets the stringent DORA requirements, thus guaranteeing their digital resilience.
When moving to new office premises, Donner & Reuschel decided to discontinue operating its own data center and transfer its infrastructure to an externally operated data center. A swift solution was found in collaboration with q.beyond. Within a short timeframe, the q.beyond team planned and implemented the complete transfer of Donner & Reuschel's IT infrastructure to the high-security data center in Hamburg. Close collaboration enabled direct communication, resulting in a seamless migration. q.beyond also took over access control for Donner & Reuschel's cage, where the infrastructure is housed. The implemented access control measures and the distribution of the infrastructure components across two fire compartments within the q.beyond data center significantly enhanced overall security.
